Religious & spiritual
Tawak’kulia Jami Masjid is open for all of the five daily prayers. During the daytime the main prayer hall can be used for reading the Qur‘an and quiet contemplation. It can accommodate over 1000 people.
The masjid also facilitates the Friday Jumma prayers, Eid prayers and the Tarawih prayers during Ramadan. Regular programmes include Tafsir (explanation) of the Qur‘an in English, Bangla and Urdu.
The Saturday Tafseer is a weekly programme (in English) with a range of lectures given by prominent speakers
The Sunday Tafseer is a weekly programme (in Bangla) with a range of lectures delivered by our imaams and other prominent scholars.
Education & Training
Arabic school for children aged 5-16years old. Monday-Friday 5pm-7pm.
The masjid from its inception has been a place of education and learning. From Monday to Friday for two hours each evening children learn Arabic & Islam.
Interfaith activities
Tawak’kuliua Islamic Society is a member the Bradford Faith forum and actively encourages people from all faiths to understand Islam and visit our masjid. (Arrangements must be made prior to visit)
Marriage service
The Imaams of TIS, facilitate the solemnisation of an Islamic contract of marriage. The newly-married couple is provided with an official ‘Nikah’ certificate to show they have been married according to Islamic Law. There is a Fee payable for this service
